“Sarah and I had been talking about collaborating on a project for years. Around the last time that the Ms. Fridrich band was on tour I was working on a Performance Gallery piece for the Cincinnati Fringe Festival, and I included a very early version of this song in that show. I thought it would be the perfect song for Sarah and I to work on together. After the tour and Sarah got back to DC, we started tossing ideas back and forth. Sure enough, over the next several months her contributions brought the piece to a whole new level, and when she suggested that I write a third verse, I knew LaTanya would need to come in and work her magic too. Once the foundation was set, Sarah flew into Cincinnati to record. During the recording, my son Wolf had been hanging around our make-shift studio all day, so in literally the last hour of the session we decided to call him in to lay down a bit of flute. And thus, ‘I’ll Disappear’ was born.” – Nathan
